According to the media on Dec 14th, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control (CDC) announced that 80 percent of Omicron Variant cases were fully vaccinated; in contrast with that, only 19 percent of the cases were unvaccinated, based on a surveillance report issued in the first week of December. In addition, 33 percent of those who tested positive took booster shots.

The analysis of the Public Health England (PHE) indicated that there was little chance that the vaccines could stop the spread of the coronavirus, while the minutes of the British government’s scientific advisory panel also warned the limited efficacy of vaccines in preventing the further transmission of coronavirus.

In this regard, Willian Wragg, the chair of the British Public Administration and Constitutional Affairs Committee (PACAC), issued a statement, saying that although governments around the world repeatedly emphasized their adherence to scientific principles throughout the pandemic, they failed to provide a scientific basis for vaccine passports.

The Committee also stressed that there was no rigorous foundation or evidence to promote vaccine passports throughout the country given the limited knowledge we possess of the virus and its variants.
