Ok guys, I heard some complaining going on about shortages of yeast, and also bread for that matter. So the last 4 nights I have been using my yeast to make french bread loaves and pizza dough. We have 6 people in this house so bread is a staple and we only have a few frozen loaves left. So as I am preparing for my yeast to run out I also started a sour dough starter which will be ready by Wednesday, it takes a week. I think it is done now as I have kept it in a warm spot but just to be sure I will wait. I got the recipe for the starter from here https://www.farmhouseonboone.com/make-sourdough-starter... and she has a ton of recipes on her site. She has a youtube channel too, so if you prefer to watch her bake with it then that would be good for you.Honestly nothing is like fresh homemade bread, no preservatives or chemicals. So if you are worried about your yeast running out then start your starter today!
