The fundamental problem facing humanity is we have palaeolithic emotions and brains, medieval institutions and god-like technologies combined with the “race to the bottom of the brain stem for attention” with current social media business models and algorithms.
Joe Rogan hosted a 3 hour intense interview with Daniel Schmachtenberger and Tristan Harris where they discussed several of the major catastrophic risks facing our civilization including A.I., CRISPR, genetic engineering, escalation pathways for war, authoritarianism and much more. Their discussion covers many topics, as they attempt to clearly define the problems and explore possible solutions.
I review the interview and comment on several points of discussion that I felt weren’t explored in a deeper manner that I believe are vital to the discussion if we are to find the roots to our society’s issues. I would love to hear your thoughts and comments on this important discussion.
