The Opening
Part prayer, part poem, part visionary fiction - I've been calling the project a “Provocumentary.”
The inspiration for this came early in the pandemic when we were all getting that cosmic invitation to step off the systemic hamster wheel and into a more Earth-led way of relating.
With so much environmental, political and viral tension in the air it felt as if the fabric of the cosmos was tearing apart; we just couldn't see it.
And then, I asked:
“What if we could?”
What if, one day, we all woke up and there was a giant hole in the sky? A massive gouge through the clear blue sky into the wet, black, starry unknown.
And what if the gash in the clouds acted like a prism and when its otherworldly light touched people on Earth, they had what can only be described as visions?
Mystical, prophetic, medicinal visions.
And if science couldn't explain it and the government couldn't control it - who or where would we look to for answers?
What, if not a literal tear in the ceiling of our imaginations, would propel us into another kind of thinking, dreaming, being?
