 The estimated number of public sector employees can range from 88,000 to 1.3 million, depending on the definition used.3

 The Public Health Agency has doubled in size since 2015, with a 30% increase last year alone, and Women and Gender Equality Canada has quadrupled over the last seven years to 390 employees, almost half the size of the Department of Finance, which is itself up 18% since 2015.1
